Reconstruction of Nostrand Ave

This $15 million NYCDDC project in Brooklyn, funded by the Federal Transit Administration, called for asphalt milling and paving on Nostrand Avenue and Rogers/Bedford Avenues on an 8 mile stretch from Emmons Avenue in Sheepshead  Bay to Taylor Street in Williamsburg. A significant aspect of this project was also the installation of select bus service (SBS) bus stops throughout the project limits, which included installation of high curbs, monetary fare machines (MFC), bus shelters, benches, tree pits as well as painting the “BUS ONLY” lane. Bus riders are provided with a faster and more efficient service than that on local or "limited" buses. In addition, more than 4,000 LF of water main of various sizes have been installed
