33rd Avenue (Bayside)

The scope of work for this project includes upgrading the trunk water main system in Bayside and Flushing, Queens, to add redundancy to the city’s network while reinforcing the high-pressure transmission lines. The project included the installation of 72-inch and 42-inch trunk water main as well as extensive upgrades to the sanitary and storm sewer systems. The process of microtunneling to install steel sleeves below the Clearview Expressway along 38th Avenue was required to complete the installation of water main and other utilities. The project aided in reducing recurring flooding conditions in multiple sensitive areas, as well as providing new water distribution systems for the communities in the project area.
